DIN is essential condition to become a director in an Indian company. I am confusing about the process for getting it.

According to Companies Act, 2013, the process for getting DIN (Director Identification Number) in India is as follows:

1. Applicant shall make an application for allotment of DIN in Form DIR-3 to the Central Government.

2. The application shall be accompanied with a self-attested copy of identity proof and address proof in the prescribed format.

3. The application shall also be accompanied with a fee of Rs.500.

4. The Central Government shall verify the documents submitted and, if satisfied, shall allot a permanent DIN to the applicant.

5. The applicant shall use the allotted DIN while filing any document with the Registrar of Companies.

1. Visit the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) website. 

2. Go to the ‘MCA Services’ tab and select the ‘DIN’ option. 

3. Click on the ‘Apply Online’ option and fill in the required details. 

4. Upload the necessary documents such as PAN card, photograph, address proof, and ID proof. 

5. After uploading the documents, an application form will be generated. 

6. Submit the application form along with the processing fee. 

7. Once the application is approved, a DIN will be issued to the applicant.
