I have noticed that in some web shows, the videos are only 15 minutes long but I find sometimes they are not as engaging as longer more fleshed out videos that you would see on television.

When it comes to video content, the length of the video should be determined by the nature of the content itself. Short form contents, such as viral videos or quick tutorials can be very engaging and informative in under 10 minutes. Longer form contents such as documentaries or in-depth analysis may require more time to fully flesh out complex ideas and engage the viewer.

Again, the attention span of the audience also plays a role in determining the ideal length of a video. With the rise of social media and mobile devices, people are increasingly consuming content on the go, which often remains shorter videos are more appealing. However, if the content is truly engaging and captivating, viewers are often ready to invest time

Ultimately, the key to creating content is not the length of the video but the quality of the content. A well-crafted 15 minute can be engaging and impactful as a longer form piece. It all comes down to the execution of the content and the ability of the creator to capture and hold the viewer's attention

The question of whether short or longer videos are more engaging is a complex one, as there are many factors that can contribute to the success of the video. While short videos  have become increasingly popular on social media platform like tiktok and instagram, longer videos are commonly found on traditional television and streaming services like Netflix and Hulu.

One solution to the issue of engagement with shorter videos is to create more polished and engaging content that captures the viewer's attention quickly. Using eye-catching visuals, compelling story telling, and relatable humor can all help to increase engagement with shorter videos. another approach is to create a series of a short videos that are released on a regular schedule, which can help to build  anticipation and keep viewers coming back for more.

For longer videos, it's important to keep the content focused and engaging throughout the entire videos. This can be achieved by breaking up the content into smaller sections, using visuals to keep the viewer engaged, and including interactive  elements like quizzes or polls to keep the viewer engaged. Additionally, longer videos can benefit from the use of cliffhangers or teasers that entice the viewer to continue watching

Short videos are great for people with shorter attention spans or who are looking for a quick burst of entertainment or information. Plus, they're easy to consume on the go, whether you're waiting in line at the grocery store or taking a quick break at work.

On the other hand, longer videos (over 10 minutes) can be great for more in-depth content or storytelling. They allow creators to delve deeper into a topic and really explore it from different angles. Plus, if you're invested in the topic or the creator, a longer video can be a satisfying way to spend some time.

Ultimately, the choice between short and long videos comes down to personal preference and what works best for the content being presented. So whether you're Team Short or Team Long, just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

Short videos, typically under 5 minutes, can be useful if you want a quick overview of a topic or if you have a short attention span. They can be easier to consume and may be more visually engaging than longer videos.

On the other hand, longer videos, typically over 10 minutes, can provide more in-depth information on a topic and may be more comprehensive than shorter videos. They can also be more useful if you are trying to learn a new skill or want to explore a complex subject.

Ultimately, the choice between short and longer videos depends on your preferences, the type of content you're interested in, and how much time you have available

I personally prefer longer videos over 10 minutes, as I find that they tend to be more engaging and provide more detailed information. However, I understand that not everyone has the time or patience to watch long videos, so I also appreciate the convenience of shorter videos that can be watched quickly and easily.

Because short videos have a higher retention rate, they perform better in terms of SEO and engagement. The shorter a video is, the more likely it is that viewers will watch it all the way through — which is the same as saying that fewer people will leave in the middle.
