I work at McDonalds and I am supposed to work on Halloween. We are allowed to go to work in costumes, but the costume I have is 94% polyester and 6% spandex. One of the rules for our costumes is that it can't be flammable. Can I wear this costume to work?

Polyester and spandex are both synthetic fibers and can be flammable. The flammability of a fabric depends on its blend and construction.

Yes you can wear it. But make sure you stand away from hot grills, fires, smoking, and anything hot.

Because this costume is flammable, it is not cotton, and polyester, and spandex can burn quickly.

Be aware.

No, the combination of polyester and spandex is flammable, so it would not be safe to wear to work............................

There is no claim to whether or not the costume is flammable. It is made of materials that are flammable, such as polyester and spandex. As long as the combination is not flammable, it can be worked with and burned.

yes, they can burn quickly when ignited, but they behave somewhat differently as they burn. the flaming melt will drop to the floor. the weave or knit (fabric density) and other finish treatments. Flame proof fibers are generally not used in ordinary wearing apparel.
