Although neutrons are subatomic particles found in the nucleus of an atom, its primary role or one of it is to help stabilize the nucleus of an atom. Without neutrons, protons that are positively charged will not bind and will just repel each other so that nucleus would be unstable and will quickly break apart. Neutrons help keep the nucleus counteract the repulsion between protons.

Neutrons are subatomic particles that have no charge and are found in the nucleus of an atom. They are important for the stability of atoms, as they help to balance the positive charge of the protons. Neutrons also play an important role in nuclear reactions, such as nuclear fission and fusion. In addition, neutrons are used in a variety of scientific and medical applications, such as neutron imaging and neutron therapy.
