Depression is one of the silent killers in the world. Some experts say it can be deadly if not treated early. sometimes people are ignorant of what is going on in their lives, or they are too busy with the hussle and bustle of life, that when depression hits, they either don't realize it or they just assume they are tired and take medication that will ease the pain, or reduce the levels of tiredness. Depression can also make one loose appetite, thus you don't have the urge to eat, you will start having habits that are questioning like sleeping all the time. I guess the best way to deal with depression, is being concious with what is going on around you and in your body. Pay attention to the little details in your everyday life. With that said and done you will be able to avoid depression from setting in, but if it is already there please seek medical attention, meditate, keep yourself busy talk to someone about how your feeling, that is very therapeautic.

You can ask or go for professional help like a counsellor or a therapist. But most people find it hard because counselling therapy tend to be expensive and so many people might not be in a position to afford it. If this is the case, contact or talk to  a close friend or parent who you know very well is trustworthy  and can keep your challenges confidential. Walking on the journey of depression is difficult and you might not achieve the desired goal alone and so you really need guidance to do so.

If you are feeling depressed, there are a few things you can do to help cope and deal with depression.

1. Acknowledge and Accept Your Feelings: Don't try to push your feelings aside. Instead, accept that they are there and let yourself feel them without judgment.

2. Talk to Someone: Don’t feel embarrassed or ashamed to reach out and talk to someone about your feelings. This can be a family member, friend, doctor, therapist, or other mental health professional. Talking through your feelings and getting to the root of what is causing your depression can help you move forward.

3. Get Active: Even if it's hard to find the energy, do something active like taking a walk or exercising. Regular exercise has been proven to help people feel better about themselves, boost energy levels, and ease depression symptoms.

4. Do Something You Enjoy: Spend some time engaging in activities that you find enjoyable. Whether that’s painting, listening to music, writing, or gardening, allow yourself to take a break from your stressors and just enjoy doing something that makes you feel happy.

5. Be Mindful: Focus on the present moment, be aware of your thoughts and emotions, and accept them without judgment. When negative thoughts come up, focus on taking deep breaths, releasing any stress or tension, and redirecting your thoughts in a more positive direction.

Depression can be overwhelming, but don't forget that you have the strength and resilience to get through this. Remember to be kind to yourself and that it is okay to ask for help.

2. Helping the person to develop a healthy lifestyle habits, such as exercising and eating a balanced diet, which can help to boost their mood.

3. Supporting the person during difficult times. This might include providing emotional support, listening attentively, and being there to offer a shoulder to cry on.

4. Suggesting that the person take some time for themselves. This might involve spending time away from the person who is depressed, or taking some time for themselves to relax and rejuvenate.

Focus on self-care.

Control stress with activities such as meditation or tai chi. Eat healthy, exercise, and get enough sleep. Most adults need 7-9 hours of sleep per night. Avoid using alcohol and recreational drugs, which can worsen symptoms and make depression harder to treat.

Alot of factors contribute to depression and some of these factors might just be peculiar and no body is above depression but what people do best is fighting it and living above it.

Depression like every other problem in life need us seeking the right solutions,no need committing suicide because that will be killing a fly with a sledgehammer. Why kill one self because of problems that the solutions is still in sight.
