Today, laptops come with a built-in camera. Normally there is no need to add an external camera to your laptop unless you have an issue with the camera on there now. In this case, you'll need to use the install disk to install the drivers for the camera on your laptop. Here is how you can do this:

  1. Plug the webcam to the USB port on your laptop.
  2. The device you use needs drivers.
  3. This normally comes with a driver CD to install the drivers and set up the webcam.
  4. Make sure when you plug in the webcam that your computer has recognized that you have new material installed.
  5. After it recognizes the new material, insert the driver CD into your CD ROM and install the drivers.
  6. You can do this by following the instructions from the install disk.
  7. You may need to go to the control panel and find the device and set the device to the priority so the OS recognizes this will be your new camera to use.

1. Plug the USB connector of the webcam into an available USB port on your laptop.

2. Wait for your computer to detect the webcam and install any necessary drivers.

3. Open the software that came with the webcam, if any, and follow the instructions to set up the camera.

4. If you are using a third-party application to use the webcam, such as Skype, you will need to set up the application to use the webcam. Refer to the application's help documentation for instructions on how to do this.

Logitech has a sophisticated cable connection system that allows two Logitech webcam devices to work together, including laptops. The system requires no programming or special software use, and can be connected as a natural language processing service for online cameras.

Plug your webcam's USB cable into an available USB port.

You'll often find an available USB port on the side of your laptop, or on the front or back of your desktop computer. Once Windows recognizes that the webcam is plugged in, the drivers will automatically install.
