I think i've come a long way in understanding why we have gay people in the society. Gay life was mostly a thing of western countries, or so I thought while I was growing up. And as such, i felt it was just one of many negative immoral behaviors obviously enjoyed by westernerns. But as I grew older, i began to notice the same behaviors exhibited by people around me. I couldn't help but do a proper research on the subject.
During the course of my research, I came to understand that human psychology which revolves around sexual orientation are categorize into three groups. Heterosexual is the medically accepted standard for humans. It's defined as having emotional, romantic or sexual attractions to the opposite sex. More than 85% percent of humans are naturally born with heterosexual traits. This is the reason why it's both medically and psychologically accepted as the normal and standard sexual orientation of humans. Anything below this point, automatically falls below standards and becomes unacceptable with perspective of normality.
Gay/lesbian (having emotional, romantic or sexual attraction to one's own sex) and bisexual ( having emotional, romantic and sexual attraction to both sex) happens to fall below standards with less than 15% of human population naturally born with those traits. From the perspective of health and human psychology, these sets of people lack proper sexual orientation and are classified as abnormal. What this simply means is that gay/lesbian and bisexual people suffer from certain hormonal defects, as much as they hate to admit it.
Drawing from the above, i've come to realize that having gay/lesbian and bisexual people is of normal circumstances. They didn't choose to be that way, they were simply born that way. And since they're faced with a medical condition, i can live with the fact that other people do not have the same sexual desires as the majority of people. But I still do not subscribe to same sex marriage. Just like I said above, such people suffer from a medical condition and should engage in clinical activities to help correct their defects instead of furthering the condition by having same sex marriage.
