Adrian Frutiger was born in Unterseen, Switzerland on May 24, 1928. He was a typeface designer and is best known for creating some of the world's most widely used typefaces, including Univers, Frutiger, and Avenir. He was also responsible for creating the International Typographic Style, which has become the standard for modern typography.
