Nike's current logo was designed in 1971 and introduced in 1978.

The logo is composed of the Nike Swoosh, a curved checkmark shape, and the word "Nike," which is usually placed either to the right or left of the Swoosh, depending on the product. The Nike Swoosh was created by Carolyn Davidson, a graphic design student at Portland State University. She was paid only $35 for her work.

The logo has since become one of the most recognizable in the world and has been featured on countless Nike products and advertisements. Nike paid Davidson $35 for her work on the logo, but later gave her stock in the company as a token of appreciation.
