Do you think wifi connection can interfere if the modem is near the fridge or microwave?

Seriously, I don't think that there is any kind of relationship between a Wi-Fi connection and modem or a refrigerator which would cause a potential interference with the Wi-Fi connection in any way possible. If anyone told you that this was possible, please kindly ask them to show you how the interference is caused by either a modem or a refrigerator. Believe me when I tell you that such individual who told you such bizarre stories wouldn't happen to know how to explain or justify whatever rubbish that he or she has told you about wi-fi connection being affected by modem.
Modem gives you access to your personal internet network connection which is used mostly on a laptop or a desktop computer, so I really don't understand how it can interfere with Wi-Fi connection.

The stronger the signal the less interference. These will also depend on the frequency of the refrigerator and when there is interference it reduce the signal. Network signal needs a place of no interference so that it can circulate.

Can a fridge and other appliances block my WiFI signal

No WiFi signal can be a real pain in some households, especially if you use streaming services, gaming devices or rely on the internet a lot.

How do you ensure the best WiFi signal reception in your home, and is there anything like a large appliance that could be blocking the signal?

I would be surprised if anything such as a fridge would have any substantial effect on WiFi signals in a home.

In Australia, WiFi operates in the UHF (300 MHz – 3 GHz) and SHF (3 GHz – 30 GHz) frequency bands.

Things such as concrete walls, steel sheeting and thick vegetation will affect the signal but single objects such as a fridge should not as UHF and SHF signals reflect off objects just like light does off a mirror.

However, if there were sufficient objects in an area such as an appliance showroom, then there is likely to be some degradation of the signal strength.

I don't think so. They are fixed objects that will do their real purpose and the same thing for modems. A wifi connection is only carried by the modem and not the other furniture in the house. My modem is near my fridge and the wife is not affected in any way.

Yes, the wifi connection can be affected if the modem is too close to a fridge or microwave due to the electromagnetic interference they can produce. It is best to keep the modem at least three feet away from any large appliances.
