A hawk's vision is incredibly sharp and can spot prey from a great distance. Depending on the type of hawk and the weather conditions, they can see up to 8 times farther than humans. On average, hawks can see prey from a distance of 300 to 500 feet while flying at an altitude of 1,000 to 2,000 feet. However, some species of hawks have been known to spot prey from up to a mile away.

Hawks have excellent eyesight and are able to see prey from great distances while soaring in the sky. Depending on the species and environmental conditions, hawks can see prey from up to several miles away. Some species of hawks, such as the Red-tailed Hawk, have been reported to spot prey from over a mile away. The sharpness of a hawk's eyesight is due in part to the high concentration of photoreceptor cells in their eyes, which allow them to detect even small movements from a great distance.
