You need to clean it after eating your meals, don't eat food that can leave stains to it. Try the baking soda to clean it.

When you first get your braces, the orthodontist will warn you about yellow stains appearing around your brackets if you don't brush your teeth correctly and several times a day. Here are a few steps you can try to do that will help to remove the stains around your brackets:

  • Set up an appointment with your dentist to have your teeth cleaned. Before going to your appointment have your orthodontist remove the wire, This will help the dentist to clean your teeth better.
  • If you find that you have a lot of yellowing around your brackets, you should schedule regular cleaning of your teeth from the dentist.
  • Start brushing your teeth more often during the day.
  • Instead of using a stand toothbrush, invest in an electric toothbrush. The small rotating heads on the toothbrush will be able to get closer to your teeth and clean around your brackets.
  • It is said that apples will help to clean your teeth. However, with braces, you'll need to cut the apples up in order to eat them and not break the brackets.
Basically, you will need to improve your brushing skills and cleaning your teeth more often during the day. This will prevent the stains from appearing around your brackets.

The secret is in correct brushing. Teeth should be brushed at least twice a day paying particular attention to the area around the braces but there are certain foods that stain the teeth more than others.

Curry will leave yellow stains. I know this because I notice that when I have eaten it the stains will last a lot longer than other foods regardless of how much I try to clean them off,  Tea and coffee also cause staining of the teeth so it might be a good idea to limit these drinks. Other foods to avoid are mustard, tomatoes, coloured soda and and red wine as these all cause staining.

Apart from that you should be able to enjoy most other foods. You will probably learn through trial and error which foods cause staining and which don't and when they are removed you can be proud of your straight white teeth.
