Aye-ayes use echolocation to find food. They tap their long middle finger on trees and listen for the sound that bounces back. When they hear the sound of a grub or insect hidden in the bark, they use their teeth to gnaw a hole and extract the food. Aye-ayes are also known to use their sense of smell to find food.

Aye-ayes use echolocation to find food. They tap on trees with their specialized fingers, and listen for the sound of grubs moving inside. When they locate a grub, they use their long, thin middle finger to extract it from the tree. They also use their sharp teeth to gnaw through wood to access the grubs.
