Our education system here usually takes 16 years for one to graduate. Usually called the 8:4:4 system. 8 years in Primary school, 4 years in high school and 4 in university to attain the first degree. A whole 16 years of life gone. When you graduate getting a job placement is the worst nightmare. Little is taught about business in school. Most of the compulsory stuff that we read are not applicable.

What of your education system?

In my country,we focus more on theory than practicals. Our curriculum is archaic, moribund..why won't we produce half baked graduates..

Our lectures are clueless.they have nothing to offer..Most of them are just their people of the money. Nobody is going for doctorate degree because of passion anymore. The economy is not smiling.

How many of our universities go into thorough research?

Our educational system is simply out of whack

The system of education in my country is 6:3:3:4. Six years in primary school, three years in junior secondary school, three years in senior secondary school and four years in the university on an average for a first degree. That is sixteen years but if you add pre school and nursery it just sums up about eighteen years like yours.

Just like you, getting a job in my country is a herculean task and each year thousands of graduates keep churning out of the system with no jobs available. This is the reason many youths migrate to Western countries where they feel the opportunities are better.

Unless your course is as professional as a doctor's, lawyer's or an engineer and the likes, I'm afraid there's really not much other courses can do for you. This is why you see many graduates acquiring real skills needed to compete in the real world after they graduate.

I think most developing countries are having this problem now of one attaining school for years but after that nothing to show for it. Even getting a good job is like looking for a needle in a haystack. It even more terrible in my home country that even a trained medical personnels are also looking for jobs and the ones available are lowly paid. So life for a graduate here isn't easy at all.

I think our curriculum should be revised here so that it meets with the demands of work of today. Jobs now needs more skills and technological know how to find a well paying jobs and schools should realize this and tailored their scheme of work and schedules to meet this demands.
I don't think going to school has ever been a waste,it just need some changes to makes things right for everyone.

Education is good there is no doubt about that, but in my country if not waste of time then it is something worst that waste of time. Because throughout the almost twenty years of schooling, you won't be enlightened or exposed to vocation or even business. You will be comparatively caged with the ideology of graduating with flying colouration and pick white colla job and earn a better living. The worst part is, the job is not available any where and even if it does, they won't want fresh graduates.
The industries that are suppose to employ are fold up.
It would have being wonderful or reasonable if the industries exist. Only few students wake up to see the reality wwhile in school.
Internationally, the richest men where not just dependent on"I must graduate syndrome ". Most great and success business men in the world and in my country don't have basic skills neither were they graduates.

To say the truth i sometimes feel like kids are being subjected to so much pressure when it comes to schooling, and then at the end of the day they start getting into unfamaliar habits that wreck their lives.

It's quite unfortunate that we have to start asking about our school curriculums and where they are leading kids to. Sincerely speaking i actually feel like school has become a waste of time, especially when i see so many bright students out here falling into depression after college or university, because they don't have jobs. What's the use of training a child so highly and then after they finish they have no where to practice what they have learned. Don't get me wrong, am not saying schooling is bad, it's good to have basic education and also a college degree that we know will help you later in life, but some of the things students are being taught in schools just feels so irrelevant to the life out here.

Yes. Most of the time I have a thought about our education system. I feel like it is not utilizing the talents, waste of time like that. The main problem in our education system is theory. Education system gives more importance to theory than practical. So it is not gonna create talents. Definitely we should change our education system. Hope In the future we will get better education system.

As humans, we survive by learning. Over the years our research has taught us many things. some things that were useful immediately and some things that were not useful until years after they were learned. ... Looking at it from that perspective – it is NOT true that 98% of what we learn is a waste.

Going to school is a total waste of time. Because after you graduate, will get a job. What you are doing now can affect your future. In the future, one A.I. can defeat the combined knowledge of all School,College and Universities in one country. And in the future, maybe "JOB" is only a part of history. Tell me the truth, in school nowadays, what will you use to find the meaning of some random words, do you use your cellphone? or do you use dictionary book to find it out yourself?.

During my time, we only need to finish university at the age of 21 or 22, depending on what major we took. Basically, it needs 14 or 15 years. I am one of the lucky students because we do not have a middle school. I am still satisfied with my country's educational system.

Some educators just want to make a name for themselves. They need to brag of introducing a certain Education system irrespective of whether the system produces the best.

I feel this Education is a waste of time

The same our education system seems to waste students alot. Wasting time in school yet getting a job you need to bribe someone to get a job or else you will live with your degrees in the street. Currently it has been upgraded to CBC I hope it will bear fruit that is, if corruption will be dealt with properly.

The education system in my country is quite different. We have a 12-year system, which consists of 6 years of primary school, 3 years of middle school and 3 years of high school. We also emphasize the importance of vocational education and the development of specific skills to prepare students for the job market. In addition, we offer programs such as apprenticeships and internships to give students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in their chosen field. This helps them to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in their chosen career.

The education system is outdated. The world is moving forward. I think that it is necessary to give basic knowledge: to teach how to write, count and read, to tell how physics and chemistry work using everyday examples. Introduce subjects to school: taxes, business, basic knowledge of accounting. Synchronize knowledge.

For example, Covid-19... Tell us about it in a biology lesson, then in a history lesson talk about other epidemics in other countries, in an economics lesson tell how the economy changes during a pandemic, in a labor law lesson tell what rights employers have and What rights do workers have? In this way, you can capture a lot of our lives and give knowledge that will really come in handy in adulthood.

We are finishing school and we know how to calculate the difficult level, but we do not know what rights we have to work in our country. Everything is outdated. We need to move forward! And in college, when the child decided on a profession, he understood in which direction he likes to move, in college he teaches formulas and explains in detail those subjects that require a future profession.

Testing students in school takes away from the genuine pleasure of learning for ourselves and makes it into one big race. The real reason why I hate schools today is that I came to a realization that school was a waste of time for me. The educational system took my best years, in terms of my ability to learn.

The American public schools/colleges was taken over by leftist teachers starting in the mid-1960s. Today the primary goal is twofold. The teachers goal is to clone themselves, and  produce proper future Comrades to join the commie/socialist movement. The parents goal is to warehouse their kids in a sort of government daycare throughout the day. Neither goal has anything to do with the welfare of the kid.

Even before the leftist takeover of the education system, the curriculum sucked. It focused on classes devoted to triviality and wastes of time, rather than anything useful or practical (in the real world sense). Tis no wonder so many college kiddies pursue near useless degrees in art appreciation, music theory, English literature, archeology, etc., after long years of being force-fed educational pablum in the public school system.

If you have  felt that the education system is a waste of time, them you are right and your intuition is not wrong.

In fact, the educational system in almost all the countries of the world is a waste of time. they fill your head with content that is not going to help you, when you have to go out into the world when you graduate, and they will never

talk to you about the monetary system and how it works, because there you would realize how the educational system is a tool for the enslavement of the masses.:ermm:

That is so true, I really think Kenyans are a bit behind on education and alot of stuff. Parents usually put more emphasis on education but at the end people land in other business that don't aplly almost everything they were taught. Yest education hells us to understand things better but when it comes to making money it doesn't help at all.

I don't think that the school system in our country is not a waste of time. Even the quality is not as good as the other countries. I know our country lacks some tools especially when a pandemic happens. The organization in charge of the schools is trying its best to give a nice policy on the education system in our country.
