Before writing about some early symptoms of ovarian cancer, let me briefly explain what ovarian cancer is.

Ovarian cancer is when abnormal cells in the ovary begin to multiply out of control and form a tumour. If left untreated, the tumour can spread to other parts of the body. That's why its always good to pay attention to signs before it spirals out of control.

Ovarian cancer has warning signs although the early symptoms are vague and easy to dismiss. Some early symptoms include

Abdominal bloating,pressure and pain

Abnormal fullness after eating

Difficulty eating

An increase in urination

An increase urge to urinate

Some other symptoms of ovarian cancer include fatigue, indigestion, heartburn, constipation, back pain, menstrual irregularities, painful intercourse, dermatomyositis(a rare inflammatory disease that can cause skin rash, muscle weakness, inflamed muscles).

This symptoms occur for any other number of reasons not necessarily due to ovarian cancer.

Cancers are best treated when detected early..so,its advisable to consult a doctor when you notice an unusual symptom.

The early stage of ovarian cancer can produce noticeable symptoms. One of the most common early signs of ovarian cancer is persistently feeling bloated and full, weight loss, fatigue, back pain, extreme tiredness and pain during sex. In most women diagnosed with ovarian cancer, the symptoms surfaced about five months or less.

Ovarian cancer is a cancer of the ovaries and can cause a number of symptoms including fatigue, upset stomach, back pain, pain during sex, constipation, vaginal bleeding (particularly if you are past menopause) or discharge from your vagina that is not normal for you, pain or pressure in the pelvic area, and bloating, diarrhea and abdominal pain [1, 2, 3]. It is important to see a doctor if these symptoms are present for most days over two weeks, as they can be easily mistaken for other conditions. Family history and genetic profile can also increase your risk of ovarian cancer.
