What should be done about vagrants that smear feces, urine, and mucus on the walls of public bathrooms, and then make fun about it on social media sites, such as Reddit?

Smearing human waste products in public bathrooms usually constitutes as vandalism, so you can get the law involved and sue or convict the vagrant.

This is very disgusting, i can't even start to imagine entering a bathroom that has faeces smeared all over the walls, that's insane for sure. Who does that if not for someone who is not okay mentally. There has got to be a law that governs this kinds of behaviors in different places. I don't think anyone would do such things and get away with it without being punished. It should be punishable by law. The first thing i would advocate for is having cctv/ surveillance cameras installed around places that are most likely to experience such people. And then also have people who will keep law and order in case someone is found guilty of that kind of behavior.  If found guilty they should be charged accordingly so that they may act as a warning to the others who have not been caught in the act. Sensitizing people about health and hygiene should also be part of the change.

It isn't just vagrants that do this kind of thing but also teenagers who think it is amusing.  If they can be identified they should be made to clean it up and given a fine to make sure they don't do it again.

Recently there was a newspaper report of a man who defecated in a fast food box on a train and threw it at a passenger. He was given a fine, community service and a suspended jail sentence.  This man was not a vagrant or a teenager he was a man in his twenties who had a regular job. People from all walks of life do stupid and disgusting things,

I think such people should be punished accordingly. Public toilet is public property and it is a crime to vandalize it. The law should look like

  • Community service
  • Cleaning the same place for a week
  • Paying a fine
  • And any necessary action

It would serve as a warning for others too.

Studies show that the state of California has the worst and highest concentration of homelessness, squatters, and tent dwellers in its major cities and districts. It is a Democrat-run state. Disgusting officials such as Nancy Pelosi, Democrat Representative of San Francisco.

With this kind of behavior, they need to be imprisoned and learned from it. It is not good to do these things to innocent souls. That's the problem with some people who can act right.

It's a bad practice that has been seen in many public toilets. They should face the rule of the law and also they should be punished by getting to wash all the toilets serving as an example am sure no one will ever do that again.

Vagrants who engage in unsanitary behavior such as smearing feces, urine, and mucus in public bathrooms can pose a significant health and safety risk to the public. To address this issue, several steps can be taken: Increase cleaning and maintenance: Public bathrooms should be cleaned and maintained on a regular basis to prevent the buildup of unsanitary conditions. Increase surveillance: Increasing surveillance in public bathrooms through the use of cameras or additional staff can help deter unsanitary behavior and allow for prompt intervention when it occurs. Provide access to services: Providing access to services such as homeless shelters, mental health services, and addiction treatment can help address underlying issues that may contribute to unsanitary behavior in public spaces. Enforce laws and regulations: Laws and regulations regarding public health and safety, such as those prohibiting public defecation or urination, should be enforced to deter unsanitary behavior in public spaces. Partner with local organizations: Partnering with local organizations, such as community groups or social service organizations, can help identify and address the needs of individuals engaging in unsanitary behavior and provide support to help them access services. It is important to approach the issue of unsanitary behavior in public bathrooms with a comprehensive and compassionate approach that balances public health and safety with the needs of vulnerable individuals. Additionally, it is important to involve and engage local communities and stakeholders in finding solutions to this issue.

There is not a specific answer, as the best way to handle this situation will vary depending on the local laws and customs. In general, however, the police may be called to handle the situation, and the vagrants may be charged with vandalism or public indecency.

Each situation is unique and it would be difficult to offer a set answer. Some things that could be done in a situation like this are (1) taking steps to avoid Mathilde's recent travels, (2) dealing with the person or issue from the start, (3) providing supporting evidence, and (4) known safe and gentle workaround options.
