Classical physics is based on the principle of conservation of energy and momentum. In classical physics, energy is energy which isamusically represented by work done, and force is the measure of how well something can hold onto its energy. Classical physics is the most general theory of energy and force. Modern physics is based on the principle of duality which means that energy can exist in twoabsent places, in the form of work and force. Modern physics is the most recent theory of energy and force and is more based on experiment and experiment rather than theory and generalization.

Classical physical concepts are often used when modern theories are unnecessarily complex for a particular situation. Most often classical physics refers to pre-**** physics, while modern physics refers to post-**** physics which incorporates elements of quantum mechanics and relativity.
