Is it safe to carry LPG Cylinder in a Car?

Yes. Every tank is carefully tested each time it is returned to the gas company before they refill it. They do that specifically because they don't want to kill any customers. The tank can stand direct flame, like from a blow torch, for several minutes. You can go to youtube and search "bleve" to see tests.

For Cars that use LPG, the cylinders are usually separated from the reactive parts like the engine and spark plug, most often it is stored at the back of the car, close to fuel tank, though metal cylinders are heavy, but the design makes it safe for use in cars, the only problem is in the area of detecting leakages if there is any.
