My website's SSL certificate is about to expire. I installed a free ssl from sslforfree.com through cpanel. Now it's time to renew it. How can I renew it successfully without breaking my site's ssl part? I don't want that delay as my site has social login for users.

There is no specific way to renew a SSL certificate without breaking your site's ssl part, but instead, it can be best to use a free ssl for free from sslforfree.com. We offer a free cPanel plugin that can help you renew your SSL certificate. cPanel has a field called "ssl_plugin_old_iciency" where you can set a plugins oldatibility level. This will help cPanel understand which plugins are old enough to use the new SSL certificate. If not, then it will choose to use the new SSL certificate instead.

Renewing your SSL is a multi-step process that varies depending on the type of your certificate and where you host your site. Even if your SSL has been renewed automatically, you must apply the renewal credit and complete the renewal request through your account.

You can purchase and apply SSL renewals during a 90-day renewal period: 60 days before the expiration date within 30 days after it expires.

For example, if your certificate expires on June 15, you must purchase and apply the renewal credit between April 15 and July 15.

After you purchase the renewal credit or your SSL is renewed automatically, you must apply the credit to your expired SSL and complete the renewal request. If SSL expires and you do not complete the renewal request within 90 days, the previously booked site will display an error message.

You can renew your SSL certificate through cPanel with the following steps:

1. Log into your cPanel account.

2. Navigate to the Security section and click on SSL/TLS Manager.

3. Click on "Manage SSL Sites" and select the domain for which you want to renew your SSL certificate.

4. Click on the "Renew" button to start the process.

5. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the renewal process.

6. After the renewal process is complete, you may need to restart your web server for the changes to take effect.

Once the renewal process is complete, you should verify that your SSL certificate is up to date by using a tool such as SSL Labs. This will help ensure that your website is secure and that the renewal process was successful.

Renewing an SSL certificate in cPanel typically involves a few steps. Please note that the specific steps may vary slightly depending on your hosting provider and cPanel version. Here's a general guide:

Login to cPanel:

Open your web browser and go to your cPanel login page.

Enter your username and password to log in.

Navigate to SSL/TLS Manager:

Look for the "SSL/TLS Manager" icon or section in cPanel. It's usually under the "Security" or "Domains" category.

Choose "Manage SSL Sites":

In the SSL/TLS Manager, find and click on the "Manage SSL Sites" option.

Locate your domain:

You should see a list of domains for which SSL certificates are installed. Find the domain for which you want to renew the certificate.

Select "Autofill by Domain":

Look for an option like "Autofill by Domain" or "Autofill by Certificate." Click on this option, and cPanel will attempt to fill in the necessary fields with the existing certificate's information.

Click "Install Certificate":

After autofilling the fields, scroll down, and you should find a button like "Install Certificate" or "Install Now." Click on it to initiate the renewal process.

Verify Certificate Installation:

Once the process is complete, verify that the SSL certificate has been renewed successfully.

Remember, these are general steps, and the specific options and interface may vary. If you encounter any issues or if your hosting provider has a different process, consider checking their documentation or contacting their support for assistance.
