One of my best friend's child is having an eczema type disease called atopic dermatitis. The skin on his feet and inner of the ankle are becoming dry and itchy. Due to severe itching sometimes skin is getting severe bruises and even bled. After consulting a dermatologist the child got a prescription which contains antihistamine syrups to intake and a steroid cream to use on the affected part. Is this treatment safe for children? How to get rid of this condition?

Apply extra virgin coconut oil on affected areas several times a day. Cocout oil has anti fungal and anti bacterial properties. It is also an intensive moisturizer for skin. Moisturizing is the best remedy to control atopic dermatitis along with avoidance of fragrances and other cosmetics. Using regular use of pure extra virgin coconut oil can cause visible changes even within days.

Don't forget to share this knowledge maximum if you get a positive result.

Atopic dermatitis is a chronic skin condition that can be difficult to treat in infants. The first line of treatment is usually to keep the skin well moisturized, as dry skin can make the symptoms worse. Other treatments may include topical corticosteroids, anti-itch creams such as hydrocortisone, calcineurin inhibitors, phototherapy, and systemic medications such as antihistamines and immunomodulators. It is important to discuss any treatments with your doctor, as some treatments may not be safe for infants. Additional treatments such as lifestyle modifications, stress reduction, and avoiding triggers may also be beneficial.

In most cases, atopic dermatitis will be disappeared by the age of 4 to 6. In some persons, this may continue longer till the age of 18 to 22 or sometimes life long. In the case of a child, atopic dermatitis will be cured automatically by the time of puberty. Don't use high protein food especially eggs as the body of the person affected will lack in efficient protein synthesis.

If the appropriate lab tests had done for your child and the dermatologist had given this prescribed anti-histamine medicine and a topical cream, then it is fine. They are an expert in treating this kind of skin ailment. Once you had seen some unchanged things with the skin of your child, it is best to have a follow-up checkup with the dermatologist.

Use a mild cleanser and warm water. After a bath of no more than 15 minutes, rinse completely, gently pat your baby dry and apply a fragrance-free cream or ointment such as petroleum jelly (Vaseline), while the skin is still damp. Moisturize at least twice a day, perhaps at diaper changes.

Atopic dermatitis is a skin disease that is caused by an allergic response to an environmental antigen. Your child will experience a skin disease called atopic dermatitis, which is a problem of skin caused by an allergic response to an environmental antigen. Herpes simplex virus is the environmental antigen that causes atopic dermatitis, and as such, this is a problem of environmental origin. Sheepsites is a term that is used when an individual has this skin disease. Ultimately, the goal is to remove the environmental antigen from your child's environment so that they can treat and prevent this condition.

Atopic dermatitis in infants can be treated with topical medications such as emollients, topical corticosteroids, and calcineurin inhibitors. It's also important to avoid harsh soaps and detergents and keep the skin moisturized. In severe cases, oral medications or phototherapy may be needed. It's recommended to consult a pediatrician or dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment plan.
