Giraffe is the tallest animal on Earth. The average giraffe stands 14 to 19 feet (4.3 to 5.8 meters) tall. Giraffe's height comes from its long neck which can extend almost 7 feet. The weight of giraffe is 794 to 1270 kilograms depending on their sex.

I guess giraffe is the tallest animal because it's neck is much more longer than other animals. It eats green leaves from the branches. In the process of evolution it's neck became longer to pick leaves. It's legs are long though, like size of a man.
