There are several ways for you to save gas when cooking:

  • When heating water - only heat the amount of water that is needed. Cover your pot with a lid so that the water will boil faster.
  • When cooking pasta - bring the water to a boil, cover the pot until the water boils, add your pasta, bring the water back to a boil, now turn off the stove and cover the pot. The pasta will cook in the hot water and it will take about 20 minutes to cook the pasta like this.
  • Make sure the flame burns blue on the stove and not yellow or orange. If this happens the stove needs to be kept clean.
  • When cooking user a lower heat on the stove to cook the food.
  • Make sure you have all your ingredients next to the stove when you start to cook.
  • always keep the stove clean and make sure the burners are kept clean.
  • When done cooking, turn off the gas.
