You will need to add some money to the app and you will be competing with others who have paid and want to lose weight. Other than this you can check out some of the free apps like Nike Trainer which will give you exercise to do each day. You will need to be motivated and keep it up on a daily basis. Losing weight means that you need to eat right, exercise, and be committed to what you want to do and most importantly set a goal for how much you want to lose. You do not always need an app to do this. There are plenty of videos on YouTube that you can watch and do the exercises with the video.
