In my country Philippines, Filipinos are fond of eating with their bare hands in certain situations. When the world turned upside down due to this coronavirus, the local health sector discouraged eating with bare hands.

This all depends on where you live and how you are raised. There are some countries that serve the food on mats on the floor. They are in the middle of the mat and each person uses their hands to eat with. They may have a type of bread that is used to scoop the food out of the plates that are served in the middle of the mat.

Other societies will teach a person to eat with a fork, knife, and spoon. While in some parts of the world you will eat with chopsticks.

If you are eating fried chicken or even tacos or pizza it is appropriate to eat with your hands. You can also eat hamburgers and hot dogs with your hands. If you are eating a sandwich you will eat this with your hands. So you see this all depends on what you are eating and what the customs of the country you live in do.

You are indeed right.

Eating with forks or with barehand actually depends on what you are eating and what the country generally accepts.

There are certain foods I will prefer using my hands such as gbole, it is native to my country, reason being that it is oily and people usually leak the oil to have a complete taste of the food when eating. But the use of my hands to eat depends on how clean they are, so if there is no water to wash my hands then I will prefer using fork. Another food that is cultural to the hands is garri and soup, and also it involves leaking and it taste better when hands are used. So in summary it depends on the food and how clean the hands are at the point of eating.

I prefer eating with hands over spoon. Because I feel convenient. When you eat with your hands, the flora in the fingers is swallowed. It is beneficial for health and various body parts.

According to a study published by the American Academy of Food Science, eating with hands is much more beneficial to health than eating with the spoon, fork and knife. Because eating with your hands makes you feel full, sooner and thus prevent you from overeating.

I prefer taking with hands, but also it depends on the type of food that you are eating. Like for rice, I would take it with a fork but for sweet potatoes which have been boiled I will use my hands.

It depends, there are foods that are meant to be eaten with your hands, such as hamburgers of pizza, and there are other foods that are eaten with a fork, such as spaghetti of salads.

It depends on certain occasions in my country Philippines. We sometimes use bare hands when having a 'boodle fight.' For formal occasions, we use spoons, forks, and the like.

It depends on what IL be eating at the time. Either way it's ok. There's food we eat with out hands like maize meal. I can have my fries with my hand, I actually love them that way. But I definatly cannot eat rice with my hand. That's where the fork comes in. Imagine having your deserts by hand.My manager is indian, he eats everything with his hands. I find that interesting

I eat with fork , i don't think you can eat rice or soup with your hand, things become disgusting and not civilized.

Also things should be clean and healthy so it is better to eat with fork, spoon.

A Filipino tradition used hands to it, which is great and feels native to do. We use fork to cut and hold the food we eat easily. It depends on the food you eat. I'll use my hands in fish and fork in steak.

I would eat a fork and spoon and then use my hands especially if you are outside eating inside an establishment or food court where I need to find a restroom or faucet nearby to wash my hands. For sanitation purposes, it is better to use utensils when you are eating outside. It's okay to eat with your hand's certain foods like seafood, and fish, or if you are inside the house.

We, Indians eat with hand. And mostly by sitting down rather than on a table which improves digestion process and flow of food inside the stomach. Eating with hand helps in understanding the heat levels of the food as well.

I prefer eating with hands because they are so fast and easy to clean. I also think it's more efficient because you're stirring and stirring with your hands does a lot of material get used up. Onsine is really fast so you can change what you like or don't like.
