LPG known as Liquefied Petroleum Gas is mainly made up of Butane (C4H10) or Propane (C3H8) and is obtained from Natural Gas or crude oil processing. LPG can be liquefied under low pressure of 5 to 10 atmosphere and stored at a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius. It has a boiling point of -44 degrees Celsius and usually stored in cylinder, it application ranges from home use for cooking to source of motor fuel for vehicles.

LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) typically consists of a mixture of propane and butane gases. These gases are naturally occurring and are extracted from natural gas or crude oil. The specific proportions of propane and butane can vary depending on the intended use of the LPG, as well as local regulations and climate conditions. Other components of LPG may include small amounts of ethane, pentane, and other hydrocarbons, as well as additives such as odorants to help detect gas leaks.

It consists mainly of propane (C3H8) and butane (C4H10) but may in addition contain some of the unsaturated components propene (C3H6) and butene (C4H8). The composition of LPG from its individual components is not fixed.

The composition of LPG from its individual components is not fixed. LPG might consist almost entirely of propane but could also contain more than 50% butane.
