Cancer isn't something that we can find a universal cure for, at least not yet. And new treatments, like gold nanoparticles, the iknife, etc are still being tested.

I live in the UK, and the statistics are showing that by 2020, 1 in 2 people here will get cancer. Yes. Half of the population. I was born in 2003, and I'm 16 years old. So by the time I turn 60, which is around 2060-70, there may be revolutionary drugs and treatments out there, so there is a glimmer of hope.

Also, another study shows that 4 in 10 cancer cases can be prevented through lifestyle changes. But unfortunately, for a lot of people, this doesn't seem the case.

There are people who live the healthiest lives and still get cancer. This brings me to my question.

Are these unlucky people a minority? Do most people get cancer through their lifestyle rather than bad luck? I don't want to live a healthy life only to get cancer anyway, especially after seeing the statistics for the disease here in the UK.

Many forms of cancer have a genetic link. Some, like the gene for breast cancer, have been identified and can be screened for early. If certain cancers run in your family, all the healthy habits in the world really won't help anything.

Some sickness are spiritual, rather than physical. And various lifestyle is a contributing factor. Yes some people live a healthy lifestyle yet but still end up with cancer, in other words some people take care of their physical lives and still end with cancer, so that leaves the spiritual aspect open, a balanced life includes both physical and spiritual and to me the spiritual is the most important because it controls the physical.

Interesting question. I have two friends who lead a particularly healthy life, one of them has leukemia and throat cancer, the other is now dead. She was misdiagnosed in the early stages of bowel cancer but despite being given 6 months to live she went on to see another 8 years.

The former did not drink or smoke, was a runner and cyclist and ate a healthy diet, the latter also lead a healthy lifestyle so why were they were so unfairly afflicted with this horrible disease? I also worked in an old people's home where one of the residents smoked and drank whisky up until the day he died. He lived to be 99 and his son died before he did. It makes no sense and I have no answers.

I think we should do what makes us happy in moderation because we never know what is round the corner. We could live until we are 100 or we might die tomorrow, there are no promises in this life.

I do think some people can have carcinogens due to inheriting them. For some reason, you can have, either benign or malignant. It is better to have benign because it is curable.

Some people get cancer from smoking and it lung cancer, and other people get cancer from nothing even if they live healthy , sometimes it is related to genetic in the family.

This disease have no solution and canno't be cured.

Unlucky those people who diagnosed with cancer it is not an easy disease to accept and hold it's pain.

There is no right or wrong answer to this question. It depends on the person's situation.

The answer to this question depends on the person's situation. Some people may get cancer because of simple bad luck, like getting a bad vaccine or andnsics. Others may get cancer because of a lifestyle choice, like eating a healthy diet or doing enough exercise. Still, others may get cancer due to a virus or cancer therapy. Ultimately, the decision to get cancer is personal to each individual.
