Most sugar processors use sulfur to remove impurities from sugar crystals.  In the process, some piece of sulfur is carried along with sugar crystals.  This sulfur is consumed in the body through sugar and its hazardous because sulfur is converted to sulfur dioxide which is harmful to the body.  To summarize, sulfur-free sugar is very harmful to one's body.
