There are so many solutions to keep your room cool at night during summer days. Keep your windows open at day time or use exhaust fans which wash out the heat in the room.

If it's summer, you definitely need to declutter. All the extra items can sometimes make the room stuffy and get in the way of fresh air. You also need cross ventilation so I suppose you have two windows that you can keep open.

If you like appliances, you might want to get a fan or an air conditioner. Try to keep a plant by the window too. It can help to filter the air coming in.

open all windows and switch on the fan. If you have AC then close all window and switch on the AC that's it.There is alternative to this procedure I think.

During summer the temperature is a bit high, and sleeping sometimes becomes difficult, one way to cool the room is to use air-conditioners but most homes especially in countries like the United Kingdom do not have air conditioners. One other natural way is to leave your window open especially at night and morning, this allows for fresh air circulation within the room, another method is the use fan as it helps in cooling and air circulation. Lastly, the use of dehumidifiers is another option, the appliance is useful in cooling the air withing the room.

If you own the house, go outside and look at the foundation. You should not be able to see the foundation. Get Styrofoam insulation board at any lumber yard. You want enough to cover the foundation down to the frost line. The dirt will hold it in place, but you don't want the Styrofoam exposed to sunllight so you have to figure some way to cover it above ground.

I covered only the exposed portion of the concrete slab with foam one foot wide. It does not usually freeze here. That one foot of foam reduced my heating/cooling bill to one third of its previous amount.

Lights produced heat. So Switch off the lights when no use. Set your ceiling fan to rotate counter clockwise. Open Windows at both ends of the house. Reduce and reflect sunlight.

If you have screens in place, it would be best to keep the windows open. Having good ventilation is important. If sunlight comes through your windows, put up some blinds.

To do these make sure that you also start to do it during the daytime so that the circulation at night time will become better. You can put blinds and panel curtains on your windows to prevent the heat from the outside will come in especially if it is the afternoon sun. The heat will still stay in few hours until night. Make sure that you close your blinds and curtains. Put blinds and curtains that will not bring extra warm feeling inside the rooms like the colors which are quite heavy and feel the warmth by just looking on the colors itself. Few hours before going to bed turn the air conditions and rotating fans to help your rooms to become more cooler. As much as possible avoid turning on those spotlight lamps in ceilings or lamp shade and other electronic stuffs for hours because this will add more heat inside the rooms even the big televisions bring the heat when opened for a few hours.

In my home I usually keep my home air ventilated at night with the use of net windows this is for the allowance of air and for the mosquito not to get in.

To cool your room at night during hot summer days, you can try the following simple methods:

Open Windows and Use Cross-Ventilation: Open windows on opposite sides of the room to create cross-ventilation. This allows fresh air to circulate and helps cool down the room. Place a fan near one window to draw in cool air and another fan near the opposite window to expel warm air.

Use Fans Strategically: Place a bowl of ice or a cold water bottle in front of a fan to create a cooling effect as the air passes over the cold surface. You can also position fans near windows to bring in cooler air from outside or aim them towards your bed for a more direct cooling effect.

Close Curtains and Blinds: During the day, keep curtains and blinds closed to block out sunlight and prevent heat from entering the room. This helps maintain a cooler temperature inside. In the evening, when it's cooler outside, open the curtains to let fresh air in.

Use a Damp Sheet or Towel: Dampen a sheet or towel with cool water and hang it in front of an open window or place it in front of a fan. The evaporation of the water will create a cooling effect in the room.

Avoid Heat-Generating Activities: Avoid using appliances that generate heat, such as ovens, stoves, or dryers, during the hottest parts of the day. These appliances can increase the temperature in your room and make it harder to cool down.

Use a Portable Air Conditioner or Cooler: If possible, invest in a portable air conditioner or an evaporative cooler. These devices can help cool down your room efficiently. Alternatively, you can place a bowl of ice in front of a fan to create a makeshift air cooler.

Sleep on a Lower Level: Heat rises, so if you have multiple levels in your home, consider sleeping on a lower level during hot nights. Heat tends to accumulate on higher floors, so sleeping on a lower level can provide a cooler sleeping environment.

Remember to stay hydrated and dress in lightweight, breathable clothing during hot summer nights. These simple solutions can help you cool down your room and improve your comfort for a restful sleep.
