Too much of everything has its disadvantage, but here are the benefits of chewing gum. When we chew gum the mouth produces saliva that cleanses the acid from food, and the saliva produced during chewing of gum contains mineral that helps strengthen our teeth. For dental protection sugarless gum is recommended. The best habit is to chew gum after meal and the type of gum is also important for oral health, but excess chewing of gum could be harmful so moderation is advised

I always thought it was but I have been reading that sugar free chewing gum can actually help with the cleaning of teeth. My granddaughter is very bad at this so I buy her the chewing gum in the hope that it will help. It is not so good for the digestive system as it stimulates acid which is secreted into the stomach only there is no food to be digested if a person has not eaten. It is not dangerous if swallowed and will be passed through the body in the normal way so I would say it does have some benefits if chewed in moderation.

Chewing gum by itself is not bad for our teeth but chewing gums may contain color which may affect our kidney and liver. If your kidney and liver are affected your health also affected.

It is not good to keep on chewing chewing gums. First thing, it can cause tooth cavity. Then, it can make the tooth wiggle if it is not too strong enough to withstand the pressure.

Chewing sugar-free gum can actually be good for your teeth as it stimulates saliva flow which helps neutralize acids and prevent tooth decay.

The short answer is that there is no scientific evidence that chewing gum does any harm to your teeth. However, if you are concerned about the wear and tear of chewing gum, then it might be a good idea to consider taking it to a gum doctor.
