The negative effects of over sleeping are enormous, example includes laziness as you won't have enough time to take care of other demanding activities, secondly you add more weight and become obsess as a result of lack of exercise, you also become dull as a result of lack of activity associated with thinking. The body needs balancing which includes adequate sleep and activity.

People who sleep too much have higher overall mortality rates. It is linked with heart disease, diabetes, obesity and memory loss but it should be noted that there are times in our life when we need more sleep like illness when the body is recovering. The average adult needs 7-9 hours although some people sleep less than this and feel perfectly healthy. On a personal level I notice I need less sleep now that I have retired than when I was working and more active and can manage on 5-6 hours.

Oversleeping is also linked to depression. When a person feels he has nothing to get up for he will spend long periods sleeping and should probably consult a doctor especially if it goes on for many months.

Over sleeping has many negative effects which includes lowering the productivity of a person, laxity and laziness. Inability to accomplish tasks and failing to reach one's goals. It's good to maintain a consistent sleep pattern so as to have enough sleep and also enough time to do other jobs.

You'll be dull and it will give you a headache for the whole day. I've been there where I slept for 12 hours and I woke up with a very aching head. I tried to drink paracetamol but it only gets worse
