Water plays a vital role in the body, the cells, organs and tissue uses water to function. Lost water through the process of sweating, and digestion should be replenished. Although there is no established water requirement as the body functions and needs varies, but to a certain degree body water requirement may be determined by body weight, for example a body weight of 70kg will require 2 liters of water daily. Pregnant women consume more water due to the growing fetus.

The amount of water intake is proportional to our body weight. The formula to calculate the required amount of is Water (in litres) to drink a day = Your Weight (in Kg) multiplied by 0.033. For example, if you are 60kg, you should drink about 2 litres of water every single day. At 90kg, you'll around about 3 litres of water. All you need to do is multiply 0.033 to your weight in Kg

About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men. About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women. This has been told by scientists in the US. The kidneys can remove 20–28 liters of water per day, but they cannot excrete more than 0.8 to 1.0 liters per hour. Drinking more than this can be harmful. So drink adequate amount of water but don't drink excess.
