For making soap at your home you need ingredients such as lye, filtered water, shea butter or cocoa butter and oils like coconut oil, olive oil etc or any preferred oil.

You need to heat up all ingredients except lye and water first. Then allow it to cool. Then mix the lye into filtered water to make lye water. Allow lye water to cool. Prepare a mould and line it with parchment paper. Mix and blend the oil mixture and lye water and then pour the mixture to the mould. Cover the mould with a lid or parchment paper. Cover the mould with a blanket for 24-48 hours. After 48 hours you can cut the soap into pieces in required shape and size. Now you need to place the soaps in a well-ventilated area for 6-8 weeks for curing process before it's being ready for use.

A detailed article including the number of ingredients, the quantity to be used and the making process steps can be found here Natural Soap Recipe for Babies

The main way that you can make soap easily on your own, without handling lye is by using melt and pour soap. Its already been through saponification (oils reacting with lye) and is safe to use and handle straight out of the package. All you do with it is melt and add your scent, color, and other additives, then pour it into molds.

To make homemade soap bars for beginners, you'll need lye, oils, and fragrance. Mix the lye with water, melt oils, combine, add fragrance, pour into a mold, and let it set.

Making homemade soap bars is a great way to create unique and personalized soaps for yourself or as a beautiful and thoughtful gift. For beginners, the easiest way to make homemade soap bars is using the melt-and-pour method. To start, you'll need to purchase a pre-made base of soap, typically made from either glycerin or tallow, from a craft store or online. Then, melt the base in the microwave or stovetop and stir in your desired colorants, fragrances, and additives. Once everything is melted, pour the mixture into a mold and allow it to cool and harden before unmolding and cutting into bars. With this simple method, you can create beautiful and fragrant soaps in no time
