All addictions begin with dedication and massive will power! I am an ex-non smoker and I quit cold turkey when I found out I was pregnant with my son and he is now 13 years old and have not had one cigarette since then in 2006!

It takes 21 days to kick the habit. Contact me if you would like to quit. I have been a health and wellness coach for 3 years now and have helped many people kick the habit! You just need accountability and encouraging words! :)

Quitting smoking is the easiest part. It's much more difficult not to start again when you feel like you need a cigarette. First of all stop buying cigarettes. It sounds obvious, but it has to be said. Also don't accept cigarettes or try to borrow them from someone.

Now when you feel like smoking, take about 10 deep breaths and count them down. Doing it has relaxing effect that's pretty much the same as smoking one cigarette. It sounds simple but so far it works for me.

1. Make a plan: Set a quit date and stick to it. Make a list of your reasons for quitting and remind yourself of them daily.

2. Avoid triggers: Make a list of situations and activities that trigger the urge to smoke. Avoid these activities and find new, healthier ways to cope with stress and boredom.

3. Get support: Tell your family and friends about your plan to quit. Ask them for support and encouragement.

4. Get help if needed: Talk to your doctor about medications or counseling that can help you quit smoking.

5. Reward yourself: Celebrate each day of being smoke-free with a reward that doesn’t involve smoking.

Do breathing exercise. Hold your hands with pen or pencil or play game in mobile phones. Drink plenty of water daily. Chew gum or hard candy. Spend time with non-smoking friends and family.

You should do it slowly and give yourself enough time to overcome it.

2- You should be start reading about it's negative effects on body. This will kill your desire to smoke

You might be tempted to have just one cigarette to satisfy a tobacco craving. But don't fool yourself into thinking that you can stop there. More often than not, having just one leads to one more. And you may end up using tobacco again.

Any form of addiction can be stopped with self determination. This requires a form of energy that is greater than the desires created by the act. First you need to take into consideration the harmful effects of smoking and understand the fact that you are doing yourself more harm than good by smoking. When this message sinks, then it can help start the change process. See the harm in addiction, then it will help you change to become a better person.
