These items can help you track your weight loss, and give you goals to accomplish to help with weight loss. They do assist with weight loss, but it is all dependent on the person's motivation and dedication to lose weight.

if you are motivated to lose weigh, yes they are good because they track activity. Most strongly I recommend GARMIN watches, they have a lot of different styles and excellent pulse rate tracking also.
