Yes. Eating a lot in night or eating in late night causes weight gain. This is based on simple concept of calorie intake and calorie burn. Eating a lot in night doesn't allow to burn the calories as the calorie intake is high and physical activity is less to burn the calories.

Eating at night has long been associated with weight gain. Years ago, nutrition pioneer Adele Davis gave her well-known advice to “eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper.” Yet the conventional wisdom today is that a calorie is a calorie, regardless of when you eat it, and that what causes weight gain is simply eating more calories than you burn. Nutrition experts call this the calorie in/ calorie out theory of weight control. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Weight Control Information Network web site, “it does not matter what time of day you eat. It is what and how much you eat and how much physical activity you do during the whole day that determines whether you gain, lose, or maintain your weight.” CONTINUE READING BELOW A study in the journal Obesity added to the confusion by suggesting that there may be more to nighttime eating than just overeating calories. Northwestern University researchers found that eating at night led to twice as much weight gain -- even when total calories consumed were the same. But this research was done on mice, not humans, and the reason for the weight gain is unknown. And a single mouse study should not cause us to toss out the wealth of evidence supporting the calorie in/calorie out theory. Still, there are good reasons to be cautious about eating at night. Diet books, dietitians, and even Oprah recommend not eating after dinner (other than a small, calorie controlled snack) because it’s just so easy to overdo it.

Delends on what you are eating.

That is proven by me,i'm practicing that every day...

Eating late can be a problem, because it is advisable that for complete digestion we should eat early enough before going to bed, by doing this the body has enough time to digest the food, late eating can cause indigestion problem leading to obesity.

Yes eating after midnight does increases weight. The reason being once you are done after the meal. The body takes hours to process the food and also this goes on for the stomach and the constipation issue while you eat in the midnight. So you have to make sure to avoid eating midnight or so otherwise that would lead to the weight gain.

Physiologically, calories don't count for more at night. You won't gain weight by merely eating later if you eat within your daily calorie needs. Still, studies show that nighttime eaters typically make poorer food choices and eat more calories, which can lead to weight gain.

Calories consumed at night won't change your metabolism or count more than calories consumed during the day. Too maney calories taken in versus not enough expended on any given day, regardless of the time, will lead to weight gain

Yes, because the calories and fat you eat doesn't have time to be processed perfectly by our digestion which will make them trapped in the body. The fat needs to be burnt out and sweated out to make you slim.

If you're binge eating every night then yes you can gain weight if that kind of routine is frequent. if you swap your snacks for healthy choices you'll be fulfilled and not as hungry. Also if you drink water more than eat unhealthy foods or snacks more likely less to binge eat at night and stay on a healthy regimen.

Yes it does since at night you only consume and have no physical activity leading to accumulation of calories which are converted to fats.

Yes eating a heavy meal at night may gain your weight because the food we intake may lead into poor digestion.Your bodys metabolism slows down during night time. This because the food does not digest properly, possibly you cannot sleep properly cause of gastric issues. When you awake you feel tired all day and youre craving to eat unhealthy foods that make you gain weight.

I will definitely say yes. For the reason that you are going to sleep right after eating the meal at night, especially if it is midnight.

There is no evidence that eating at night makes people gain weight. If you are struggling with weight, you might want to try some other methods to lose weight before you can eat at night again.

Eating at night can lead to weight gain if it causes you to consume more calories than your body needs. It can also disrupt your sleep and metabolism, which can contribute to weight gain over time.

It is a common myth that eating at night makes you gain weight. The idea behind this myth is that the body's metabolism slows down at night,so calories consumed in the evening are more likely to be stored as fat. However, there is no scientific evidence to support this claim.

Weight gain occurs when a person consumes more calories than they burn. This can happen at any time of the day.
