Advil contains ibuprofen which can have some major side effects if taken too long. Furthermore, you shouldn't be taking this more than twice a day or two tablets every 6 to 8 hours. If you take this over a long period of time you risk the chance of:

  • Stomachaches
  • Heartburn
  • Dizziness
  • Rash
  • Drowsiness
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Constipation
  • Ringing in your ears
Over a long period of time you will have other medical problems that could lead to or cause:
  • Liver failure or inflammation in the liver
  • Low platelet count
  • Blood in your urine
  • Stroke
  • Heart attacks
  • Sever or life-threatening skin reactions
  • Blood pressure
  • Kidney damage
If you are looking for a painkiller to help ease the pain don't take this more than a few days before switching over to Tylenol or another type of painkiller that doesn't have ibuprofen in it. Furthermore, if you are taking this for a long-time and have any of the symptoms listed above, then you need to see a doctor immediately. This isn't safe to take for an extended period of time. Most doctors will tell you to limit this or stop taking it after 5 to 7 days and won't advise you to continue taking this after that time frame.

Advil is a medication in the non- steroid, anti inflammatory drug class that is used in treating pain, fever and inflammation.

Whenever your are taking this drug, ensure that you're taking it under doctors prescription to avoid over dosage and under dosage.Chrinuc use of advil can destroy your kidneys hence shouldn't be taken for a long time.

There are different types of dosage for instance, 400mg tablet can be taken four or six times a day. 800 mg should be taken once or twice a day although it will take along time.

You should take it for one or two weeks and at most one month to avoid its effects in the kidney.

Advil being a nonsteroidal drug that targets hormones causing inflammations like sweelings, pain, and fever are met to be taken as prescribed by pharmacist. They are ibuprofen drugs that must be avoided if you are asthma and shouldn't be used along side aspirin. They could cause bleeding of the stomach and small intestine if taken in overdose. Advil must be avoided before or after bypass surgery of coronary artery.
Advil are taken to reduced pain caused by menstrual cramps, toothaches, headaches and arthritis. Advil can be taken by adults and children that are above six months old.

Advil can cause acute heart attack or stroke if use in long term or high use of it. It is very risky for those suffering from heart disease to take it. You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to any ibuprofen drugs, and if you had asthmatic attacks in the past.

Use Advil in smaller dose that will take care of your pain and don't use longer than recommended period. See you doctor before using Advil. And also ask your doctor how safe it is to use Advil if you had any of the following:

High blood pressure, heart attack, blood clot, high cholesterol, stroke etc.
