keeping the democratic nature of the constitution, in India, there are no specific laws against trolls. However, whether social media or offline, based on the situations and the relative activity (involving trolling), can be handled using laws against defamation, online stalking, criminal intimidation and exchange of sexually explicit content.

Yes, trolling is illegal in India. Trolling is considered an offence under the Indian Penal Code, with punishments ranging from imprisonment to fines. Section 66A of the IPC defines a person as a 'cyber-troll' and punishes them for sending offensive messages through a computer or a communication device. Section 503 of the IPC penalizes the person for sending threatening messages. Additionally, the Information Technology Act, 2000, also prohibits cyber-harassment and cyber-stalking.
