I have to face an interview for the job of Assistant Professor. I dont know how to prepare for the same. What should be the approach to prepare for the interview.

Search on their website what is the goal of the University.

Remember importance of recruitment and mention it several times during your interview,

Read carefully information about your future colleagues-it can be important because some of them my be on your Search Committee. 

Be confident with your answers.
