I don't think this is true because employers will need more employees to handle the technology part of the company. Although some employers allow their employees to work remotely but that doesn't mean they will lay off their employees because of technology advancement.
Companies employers outsource few freelancers to reduce work loads for few hours while they still have their regular employees.
