I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in this, but I don't like the idea of no marriage in heaven. Seriously. Who would? It's stuff like this that makes us say "at least it's not hell." No Christian should have this kind of attitude. But because of the teachings today, the way Matthew 22:30 is interpreted, who can blame them?

You can tell me all you want that I'm not a true follower of Christ if I have a problem with no marriage in heaven. You can tell me I'm "talking of the flesh and not the spirit." You can say all you want. And don't give me that stuff about God replacing marriage with "something better."

So I went to do some research. And I found this article by Andrew Tevington. A pastor at a United Methodist Church in Oklahoma. He said that ideas of heaven vary even within denominations, and that it is not considered an essential teaching like the death and resurrection of Christ. Thus leaving room for interpretation. If that's the case, I have a question for all of you who believe in no marriage in heaven. Does this article make a point? God bless.

In Matthew, Jesus admonished the Sadducees, pointing out their anemic efforts in the scriptures and their lack of understanding of God's true nature.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. Matthew 22:29

The Sadducees were convinced that God was not going to resurrect His followers and were endeavoring to enlighten Jesus on just how ridiculous the whole idea was.

Jesus' lesson to them, although surely embarrassing, has great learning for all of us, as it may often hit very close to home. What do the scriptures say about God's true nature? The conclusion that God is infinitely good flows with Jesus further explanation to the Sadducees, and with many clear passages:

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:32

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. I John 1:5

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:13,17

To understand that God is always good takes some real maturity in the scriptures. Although its a lot to ask, treat all scriptures which seem to indicate the contrary as a figure of speech (like a parable, it requires mental effort to not take it as literal). Once practicing this mindset, a believer will find passages that were previously closed to him are now open.

Marriages are not made in heaven.. its a institution which is created for society . If marriages made in heaven than why some couples have dispute n conflicts.

I dont know what says religious text about it..but my view is different. Man n woman can be live together without marriage. If they love each other..and be loyal to each other. Exactly .. i am talking about live in relationship.. but there are some problem take place in this  type of relationship.. if you are not loyal to your partner than what?  Only solution is Separation n find another partner???? Right.. bcoz
You are not pressurized by society to maintain your relation.  Than our ancestors created an instituion called marrige. Marriage is social acceptance of your relation and that is very important to us.

Some ministers of certain Christian churches teach that you will go to hell for not marrying your spouse.

God had a perfect plan for the human race. He wanted a perfect man to marry a perfect woman to beget perfect children. This was on Earth. Yet we are celestial with bodies which marry and get married.

Only the celestial body or spirit was to go to heaven. There was no marriage in heaven. We live like angels.

What is good about marriage? Though it is a good relationship but I do not need such in heaven. I need to go and enjoy.

Marriage symbolizes the relationship that Christ has with the church as he is known as her bridegroom.

Andrew Tevington's article disappointed you with his answer to your question, "Is there marriage in heaven?" Because you can't bear the thought of 'marriage not existent in heaven', or at least, you want to stay married to your wife in the life-after-death place.

I don't know if there is, to be honest. But if what you believe and what every religious person's belief about heaven is that "there are no more tears, no more sorrow, no more pain, no more labor"--- because every soul would be complete--- and no one is in need of anything and anyone to complete the living soul. Sort of, every one feels "Heavenly whole". I don't think the "need" for a wife or a husband is that eternally vital.

I hope that makes sense.

In heaven all our needs will be met and we will have joy to the fullest so it is possible that God will let us continue our marriage in heaven because he wants us to be happy.

One of the religions that believe in marriage in heaven is called Mormonism. They believe that you can do a celestial marriage in their temple so that after you die you can be united with your spouse in the afterlife.

The article says that marriage in heaven is not considered an essential teaching like the death and resurrection of Christ. This means that if you don't believe in them, you can question whether or not heaven is an important part of your faith.
