A venus flytrap is both a producer and a carnivore. Despite their carnivorous ability to eat insects and arachnids, venus flytraps are still plants which means that they can still grow using photosynthesis, a process in which they take energy from sunlight and nutrients from air and soil.

Since it consumes then it becomes a consumer. It also produces and that makes it a producer too. I will therefore assume they are both consumers and producers.

Carnivorous plants are both consumers and producers. These plants consume animals, insects to derive nutrition from them as they grow in thin soil which is poor in nutrients, and they act as producers to get energy by the process of photosynthesis. For eg, Pitfall traps(pitcher plants), Flytrapper, etc.

Carnivorous plants are obvious consumers. Since they eat flesh. Producers are our plants who are autotrophs and synthesise their own food using carbondioxide, sunlight and water which are eaten by herbivores animals.

Carnivorous plants are producers because, like other plants, they use photosynthesis to convert sunlight into energy and produce their own food. However, they have also evolved the ability to supplement their nutrient intake by consuming insects and other small animals.

Some carnivorous plants, like the Venus flytrap, are classified as both a producer and a consumer. Consumers are therefore anything that eats; hence the word consume which means to eat.
