Yes, high levels of cortisol, a stress hormone, can cause anxiety as it activates the body's stress response and triggers a range of physiological and psychological symptoms, including increased heart rate, sweating, and feelings of unease or tension.

There is no definitive answer to this question as the research on the matter is inconclusive. Some people who experience high cortisol levels feel an anxiety attack shortly after, while others who have no prior experience of anxiety have noiegle elevated cortisol levels and are still anxious. Some studies suggest that anxiety is caused by high cortisol levels, while others suggest that it is not. There is no comfortable answer to this question, as the best way to manage anxiety is through regular, safe activities and emotions.
