Why is October the 10th month and not the 8th month?

Why october is not the eighth month even if octo is related to the number eight?

Hello!   Originally, the months were: March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, and December, with October being the eight month.  However, this changed when Julius Caesar's astronomers insisted on a 12-month calendar year as being more precise and in-sync with the seasons.  So, January and February were added to the beginning of the calendar. I don't think there is a specific reason for that but as for me what i know it  could be  just a scientific  since there is rotation of the earth that enables the day and night to occur and we start to count days and months.

October is the 10th month,not the 8th month because it is at the 10th position,counting from the start of the Year.The series goes in the ascending order of the month.

There is no specific answer regarding that question. All of us know already the october as a 10th of the months. Maybee there is a person create that decision. There is no history regarding that matter.

Octo means eight but it doesn't necessarily mean that October would be the eighth month on the calendar. During naming of seasons that's when each month was assigned it's name to match the gods and seasons of those ancient time.

I don't believe there is a precise explanation for this, but based on what I do know, it may simply be a scientific fact because it is the earth's rotation that causes day and night to exist, and it is this that causes us to begin counting days and months. Although the word "octo" is Latin for "eight," it does not necessarily imply that the month of October is the eighth in the calendar.
