According to rumors and also reports from Tata it has announced that they are still in the electric car business and plan on bringing back the Nano with a new name. Tata Motors is planning on releasing the new Nano EV soon. However, when this happens the Nano EV hatchback will only be sold for fleet cars and not to the general public.

The Tata Motors will only supply the body for the Nano EV. They will no longer be manufacturing the complete car. As of right now Tata Motos creates and makes the body, Jayem Automotives will fit the car with the electric powertrain and other equipment and Electra EV will supply the powertrain. so basically Jayem Automotives will be equipping the interior and the body with all the accessories. As of right now, they will only be available as fleet cars. Who knows if they will change their minds and sell again to the public. Only time will tell.

The cost of a Tata electric car will be lower than a traditional one after all factors are considered. One of the key factors to consider when choosing a Tata electric car will be its fuel economy. This will be performance, luxury and style.
