It is best to consult a pediatrician about this matter. For some parents, they tend to make the food colorful. It can make a child more interested in this strategy. Sometimes you can incorporate play therapy while feeding a child.

Depending on the age of the child, a child can stop eating because of medical condition which most times the child can't say. You need to see a doctor in such case. But if a child lacks appetite, you can entice him/her with a promise of a gift or visiting his/her favorite park. For example 'Hey John if you can finish your food, mummy will buy you your favorite snack or mummy will take you out to see'

Other kids needs a lot of encouragement to eat the right meal sometimes. Since he is used to eating snacks you should start to train him to change his meals little by little. You can let him watch or read stories on proper eating of food. Sometimes watching of educational videos, stories or similar television programs might help him to follow such to change his ways of eating. If he has other younger siblings, relatives or friends that he can see eating the right kind of foods from there he will follow what other kids or be encouraged to follow what other kids do. At his age you can still start to train him you just have to be patient with him. Maybe you can put some toys or give him reward later once he follows you or eat other healthy foods.

First is to set an example. Show him that you're eating something, and when he looked at you and felt hungry, you might convince him to eat too. Children learn something when they see adults do it because we are usually followed by younger persons. That is based on my experience with my nephew when he saw me eat a slice of pizza. He doesn't eat baby foods anymore when he saw his uncle eat pizza.

Encouraging a child to eat can be a challenging task, but there are several strategies you can try to help make mealtimes more enjoyable and less stressful:

Offer a variety of healthy foods: Try to include a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and dairy products in your child's diet. Offer foods in different colors, textures, and shapes to make meals more interesting and appealing.

Be a good role model: Children often mimic their parents' eating habits, so make sure you're modeling healthy eating behaviors by eating a balanced diet and trying new foods yourself.

Set regular mealtimes: Try to establish a routine for mealtimes, so your child knows when to expect food. Offer three meals and two to three snacks each day at consistent times.

Limit snacks and drinks: Encourage your child to drink water instead of sugary drinks, and limit snacks to healthy options like fruit, vegetables, and nuts.

Make mealtimes fun: Engage your child in meal preparation, such as letting them help choose what to make or assist in the kitchen. You can also make meals more fun by arranging food into interesting shapes or serving food in colorful dishes.

Avoid pressure or bribes: Avoid pressuring your child to eat or using food as a reward. This can create negative associations with food and lead to further eating problems.

Consult a healthcare provider: If you're concerned about your child's eating habits, or if they're experiencing significant weight loss or other health issues, consult a healthcare provider for guidance and support.

Remember, it's important to be patient and persistent in encouraging healthy eating habits. Every child is different, and it may take time for your child to develop a taste for new foods or learn to enjoy mealtimes

It can be challenging to make young children eat, especially when they are picky eaters. Here are some tips that may help encourage your 3-year-old son to eat his meals:

Offer a variety of foods: Provide a range of healthy foods at each meal, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Let him choose what he wants to eat from the options provided.

Be creative: Try different ways to present the food, such as cutting fruits and vegetables into fun shapes, or making a smiley face with food on the plate. This may make the meal more appealing to your child.

Stick to a routine: Serve meals and snacks at regular times each day, so your child learns to expect and look forward to mealtime.

Set a good example: Children often learn by observing their parents' behaviors. If you eat healthy meals and snacks, your child may be more likely to follow suit.

Avoid distractions: Turn off the TV and other electronic devices during mealtime, so your child can focus on eating.

Make mealtime enjoyable: Sit down and eat with your child, and engage in conversation or play while eating. This can make mealtime a fun and positive experience.

Remember that it may take time and patience to get your child to eat a variety of foods. Don't force or pressure your child to eat, as this may lead to negative associations with food. Instead, offer healthy options and allow your child to make choices about what they want to eat. Consult with your pediatrician if you are concerned about your child's nutrition.

There are a few things that you can do in order to help him become more willing to eat. First, it is important to get him used to having food in his mouth. This will help him to be used to the idea of eating from now on. Second, you can help him to eat when he is not feeling well. This may be done if there is no other way for him to eat. or if he is feeling sick. Third, it is important that you try to make it a regular activity in his life. This can help him to become more willing to eat and also help him to learn new things. Fourth, you may need to be there for him when he eats. This may be making sure he has food in his mouth, or taking him to the store so he can have a set amount of food for his lunch.

To encourage a picky eater, offer a variety of healthy foods, involve the child in meal planning and preparation, create a positive and relaxed environment at mealtimes, and provide small portions. Avoid pressure and praise positive behaviors. Consult with a pediatrician if there are concerns about the child's growth or nutrition.
