Some companies cannot sustain their credibility in terms of changing their rules and policies from time to time. If they continue to do this, then their workers will be confused. Is it a bad sign of having a failing company?

When I working in a company with more than 300 regular employees, almost every end of the year we (upper and middle management) review our existing policies and update the sections that are needed to be adjusted to cope up with the changing times.

The point is, there comes a time that companies need to adjust their policies to adapt to the changing times. Then again, there MUST be a policy to let the employees know about the policy changes. :D

I personally think that this company is good in managing people. I also agree that it is fine to update a company's rules and regulations. My company is becoming unreasonable since they keep on changing and it is not annually. They sometimes do it monthly or even weekly. :'(

It is not an opinion of whether it should be updated because all reputable companies engage in policy reviews in order to stay relevant with the changing times, ensure effectiveness and consistency of policies and keep up with best practices. Their rules and policies are reviewed, revised, and modified either every 3 years or some even annually depending on the assessed needs and end results are communicated to employees.

That's the ideal time period. I must say that my company is not like this. The shortest time for them to change their rules is within a week. It is really alarming for them to do this. However, I always think positively about this concern. In time, I am planning to move to another company because it is very confusing sometimes.

I think in business world consistency is a good word and a feeling. They can change some rules in a sense that they can add something and not all the time but, if they are selling their brand, their clients will be confused if their workers are already confused with constant changes.

My company is doing this lately. It is really confusing. Personally, I need to prepare because it sounds a bad sign. It has been days that I am thinking about this.

I remember you were mentioning that. First training, then I reckon another 100 new rules. Yes, I feel as well that is not a good sign and I believe in signs. Don't overstress yourself. Try to use them to maximum or when you find something better, sack them:D

I am waiting for the right time. Since I started working with them, I really do not like the admin part. I just ignore them and carry on my teaching stunts. Now, they mutated to be more unreasonable.

yes, i wish that you could focus only on teachings but, those mutations will still be there, bombing you. hold on while you can!

Is it important to review policies and procedures? ... Regularly reviewing policies and procedures keeps your organization up to date with regulations, technology, and industry best practices. Policy review ensures that your policies are consistent and effective.

The question is for how long before they can change the rules. I had seen a company that they change their rules within a month and then, change again the following month. That's not a good thing for me.

For a company, it's good to be updating thier terms but it should not be done every now and then unnecessarily this is because it will also affect the productivity of its workers. It can also mean they are not doing well and are almost shutting down.

It is sad to say that it happens to some Chinese companies. Currently, I am working with one of these companies and hate the way they change rules at random.

I think it should not be. If the company keeps on doing this, it is a sign that the company is not stable anymore. In fact, it is a bad sign for bankruptcy.

No, it is not a bad sign of having a failing company. It is a sign that the company does not care about its workers or about changing rules and policies from time to time.

It is generally a good practice for companies to update their rules and policies from time to time to adapt to changing circumstances, technological advances, or legal requirements. Updating policies can also help to ensure consistency and fairness across the company and protect the company from legal liabilities.

It is important for companies to communicate any changes to their employees clearly and effectively to minimize confusion or misunderstanding. If a company fails to do so, it may indicate poor communication or management practices rather than a failing company. It is also important for companies to balance the need for updates with maintaining a stable and consistent work environment for their employees.
