I read somewhere that garlic could be used to cure yeast infection in women. How valid is that?

There is no scientific evidence to support the use of garlic to cure a yeast infection in women. Garlic is a natural remedy for this condition, but it is not a cure.

That is very valid my friend though it might sound ridiculous.Garlic is very good and has many benefits in the human body when consumed. As much as it is a cooking ingredient, it is also a medicinal.

The main ingredient in garlic is allicin which has antibacterial, antivirus, antifungal and antioxidant properties.

Now yeast infection is caused by a fungus called Candida. It is a natural flora of the vagina but causes problem when there's overgrowth of it. Looking at the properties of garlic, you can see that it has the ability to attack the overflow of this yeast.

It is used by neatly peeling a single clove and threading It much like a tampon. Afterwards if is carefully inserted into the vagina and left there for at least 8-12 hours. The thread is for easy retrieval. This is done everyday until symptoms disappear.

I tried that after all the over the counter meds failed and it worked magic.

There is no scientific evidence to support the claim that garlic can be used to cure yeast infection in women. However, some women have anecdotally reported success with using garlic to treat their yeast infections. Because of this, some health professionals may recommend a trial of garlic supplements or a garlic paste applied topically to the affected area as a possible treatment. It is important to note that garlic may interact with some medications and can cause irritation to sensitive skin, so if you are considering trying garlic as a treatment, please consult your doctor first.

Garlic has antifungal properties that may help with yeast infections. However, more research is needed to determine its effectiveness as a treatment. It's best to speak with a healthcare provider to determine the appropriate treatment for a yeast infection.
