For those who are not English, where did you learn to speak it and write it?

English is my mother tongue but I notice that many non native people on writing sites have a good command of the English language. For those of you who are not English is it taught in your schools from an early age or did you learn it later in life?

I had learned it when I was still in school days.  I like reading novel books during my high school days, too.  As the years go by, I indulge myself in teaching the English language to non-native speakers, such as Koreans and Japanese. Now, I am teaching online with Chinese students in China. One thing for sure, I had acquired speaking the way Americans do. I can also do the British accent but it is tiring for me.

As I am not English and I belong to India,simply any kanhai you learn by writing and reading so same goes with me.This platform also helps me to enhance my English in some way.

I leearn a basic english from the school and private classes. During that time I got somethink about basic english, and I currently still learning about english by practicing it.

I learned English from my early years in pre school. It is one of the fundamental /compulsory subjects that you need to take here in Kenya.

During colonialism, we were under British rule and we had to learn the language in order to converse well. 

It has been made the international language hence everyone is trying hard to know it in order to conduct business, travel

Well in many schools of many countries it is taught in schools. besides if you really wnat to learn it you can learn it from youtube as there are many good channels that can surely help you...

Learning a language can be really simple. Even if you are new to a language, you can start learning from scratch. There are a lot of YouTube videos, Online classes, Blogs, etc. available online. One ca easily learn through online platforms. I myself have a channel to teach German videos from basics to advance level. Along with online help, you may buy books and audio tapes.

It was first thought in the school teaching the basic English language. Other than that watching English shows or movies most of the time. Try to speak English with other native English speaking people most of the time so that you will practice and get acquainted with oral English language.

I had a relationship with an Englishman. I requested that he review my grammar, pronunciation, and spelling.

I learned it from my school where till 5 I learned only some little words of them then I went to Dubai and there I took some English classes where I took 2 classes per week and I starter my English learning from there and now I am a fluent in English

I learned to speak English when I was a kid. I used to copy what cartoon characters said. And it made me fluent with English when I've watched sporting events such as WWE and NBA. I try to repeat what the commentators said and thankfully I've practiced it for me to learn more.
