I am not sure if you are aware that some parents indulge their kids in learning how to play musical instruments. When I was a kid, I never learn any of them. Do you think it is advisable for them to do this?

I can feel that you are so proud of them. If this pandemic will be gone away, I will continue to encourage my niece to learn it. She started to learn ukelele, but it was stopped because of this current situation.

This is quite a reasonable and knowledgeable answer and I think you are quite right considering the angle you are seeing the question from.

Yes, acctually is important for children. Because as I know music can make people think better and smart when they are facing a problem. So, it's gonna be nice when you start and give children private musik class or something like that.

I believe that you can play a musical instrument. In fact, I enrolled my niece to learn the ukulele. But now, she stopped because of this pandemic. If things are fine, I will let her learn it again. Some people claimed that if a person can play any musical instruments and move people, then they are real geniuses in this world.

Indeed this is true I am glad you see things from this perspective because this is quite right.i understand what you are trying to say, keep it up.

My parents made me learn to play the piano but I didn't like it and gave it up when I was around 12. Of course I regret it now but it just wasn't my thing at the time and I found it difficult to read music. The same with my granddaughter, she didn't like it either.

I don't know if I would call it important as life will go on just as well without this skill and many parents cannot afford the lessons but being able to play an instrument is awesome and for some it becomes a real gift so I would advise parents to try to get their children to learn an instrument but not pressure them too much if they don't like it. My son plays the guitar and drums quite well but he is self taught so if a child really wants to learn he will.

When I was a kid, my mom let my younger sister learn to play the piano. In fact, she does not like it all and never learn to play. During my high school days, our music teacher taught us the basic chords in playing the guitar. Eventually, it didn't stay long and forgot all about it. A strong will is a key factor in achieving something.

When I was a kid, I always feel amazed by kids who can play their musical instruments on a stage. I was thinking about how it feels to be in that kind of situation. I got my chance when being active during programs at school. I do agree that it will boost their self-confidence.

Yes I agree with your point playing musical instruments can lead to career development.

I think it depends on the child. If they are intrested in music and the intruments,  you should support them to learn them. I also did not learn any instrument because I was not intrested. As a parent,  you should identify your child's likes and give support as they learn to do it.

At some point, you are right. I remember when I was a child, I wanted to be a pianist. My mom is not that keen enough to notice and asked my younger sister to do it. In the end, she did not learn anything about playing it.

Increases Memory Skills

Learning an instrument teaches a child how to create, store and retrieve memories more effectively. This video from TED-ED explains how playing an instrument is like a total workout for the brain. In a hospital, this keeps a child or teen’s brain working and can distract from their pain.

Teaches Perseverance and Creates a Sense of Achievement

Learning to play an instrument takes a lot of time, patience and practice. During music lessons and music therapy, a teacher or therapist will set short term and long term goals. As the child reaches their goals, they will feel a sense of achievement and pride.

Improves Coordination

Playing an instrument requires the brain to work at advanced speeds. Reading music is converted in the brain to the physical motion of playing the instrument. Those who play instruments have improved hand eye coordination over those who do not.

earning to play an instrument can help kids grow socially and academically.

Learning to play an instrument can help kids grow socially and academically.

Improves Math Skills

Playing an instrument may seem like a creative act, but there are many parallels to math. Music and math are highly intertwined. By understanding beat, rhythm and scales, children are learning how to divide, create fractions and recognize patterns. “It seems that music wires a child’s brain to help him better understand other areas of math,” says Lynn Kleiner, founder of Music Rhapsody in Redondo Beach, CA to Parents online.

Improves Reading and Comprehension Skills

Learning and playing music requires constant reading and understanding. Children and teens need to identify a note on the page and recognize which note (pitch) to play on their instrument, how long to hold it, what finger to use and how loudly to play it. They also need to identify if the note should be played short and crisp, or smooth and connected to the next note. Learning to read and comprehend music can even help in reading and understanding literature in school classes.

Creates Responsibility

Most instruments require some kind of maintenance or upkeep. This can be anything from oiling to tuning to cleaning. Encouraging children to stay on top of regular instrument maintenance creates a level of responsibility for them. When they are responsible for something they are more likely to take care of it themselves without a parent having to remind them.

You had given essential information on the beneficial effects of playing or hearing musical instruments. A pianist can be tagged as a genius if he or she can move people. Learning them is a good thing if the learners have a strong will to learn it by heart.

It depends on the attitude of your kids of what he / she liked.  Your kids can try to learn and play musical instrument  but not all kids have talent. 70% of the kids do not like to play musical music. They just want to play sports or any outdoor activities. Maybe, they can try and enroll to different musical instrument but ask your kids what they want.

Children needs encouragement and this is one good way to encourage them.

In my opinion, learning on how to play instruments is important(for now). But in the future, you can play piano, guitar, drums etc. at the same time using your two hands. Just look at the producers nowadays, they are all using gadgets and they can create a maximum of 3-4 music/songs in just 1 day without learning the chords. They can write a song using their two hands and their imagination of creating a tune and lyrics.

Playing musical instruments will help develop their skills at younger age. They will learn how to love music and at the same enjoy it at a younger age. These musical instruments will help them divide their time instead of just playing around aside from going to school as they grow older they will develop more talents that they want to pursue in the later age.

I was born into a musical household. My father and sister were also excellent players. I don't give a damn. I was interested a lot of high-tech stuff (this was before computers), but if I wanted to study music, I'd have to be forced to.

My father has the ability to pick up and play practically any instrument. I couldn't even whistle a basic melody correctly at the time. My uncle eventually advised that I learn to play an instrument. (I was in my late twenties at the time.) I began learning the piano when I was in my mid-thirties.

Learning to play a musical instrument, in retrospect, is just as vital as going to college. Yes, you are correct.

Learning instruments is important to improve many cognitive and physical aspects of the human body. It's good for kids to play their instruments because it's proven that learning a musical instrument improves memory, stimulates the brain, bring balance and harmony to one's life, and children have an outlet for creativity and their emotions.

We can't force any kid to learn musical instruments unless the kid should have some interest. If the kid is having interest in other things like dance, singing song, playing any sports. We can only suggest them.

It is good if they have the talent. Jobs this days are hard to find. Music might just be the escape route. Most people that are not good in academics are talented in music and arts.

Yes it's good. We all know music is a stress reliever, and as a kid, we enhance the talent of a child when they learn to play musical instrument. Rather than music, it also teaches a child to have a discipline to strive and to practice more in order to play a certain instrument better.
