These are ideal things to do. We need to consider keeping fit as a fiddle. The most important thing is to change our bad eating habits and do some exercise regularly. The lifestyle can be modified to do healthy activities instead of smoking, drinking, alcohol, and the like.

Avoid overeating

The link between calorie intake and longevity currently generates a lot of interest.

Animal studies suggest that a 10–50% reduction in normal calorie intake may increase maximum lifespan

Studies of human populations renowned for longevity also observe links between low calorie intake, an extended lifespan, and a lower likelihood of disease

What's more, calorie restriction may help reduce excess body weight and belly fat, both of which are associated with shorter lifespans

That said, long-term calorie restriction is often unsustainable and can include negative side effects, such as increased hunger, low body temperature, and a diminished sex drive

Whether calorie restriction slows aging or extends your lifespan is not yet fully understood.

SUMMARY

Limiting your calories may help you live longer and protect against disease. However, more human research is needed.

2. Eat more nuts

Nuts are nutritional powerhouses.

They're rich in protein, fiber, antioxidants, and beneficial plant compounds. What’s more, they’re a great source of several vitamins and minerals, such as copper, magnesium, potassium, folate, niacin, and vitamins B6 and E

Several studies show that nuts have beneficial effects on heart disease, high blood pressure, inflammation, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, belly fat levels, and even some forms of cancel

One study found that people who consumed at least 3 servings of nuts per week had a 39% lower risk of premature death

Similarly, two recent reviews including over 350,000 people noted that those who ate nuts had a 4–27% lower risk of dying during the study period — with the greatest reductions seen in those who ate 1 serving of nuts per day

SUMMARY

Adding some nuts to your daily routine may keep you healthy and help you live longer.

I did not know that nuts can be included in our diets to live longer. Perhaps we need to sustain the good cholesterol level. As you had mentioned in this matter, I read an article that nuts can make us live longer as indicated by Harvard studies.

I am sure you are also doing these things. To some degree, we need to consider the genetic health problems. Whether we like it or not, some health conditions can be passed on from one generation to another. For instance, diabetes mellitus, heart diseases, and others. Regardless, we still need to keep fit and do the necessary precautions not to worsen them.

thank you forthinking that of me. i do try and i always did but, for instance, all in my family, need to go to dentist a lot times though we eat helathy and brush them regulary. also, i am glad that noone in my faily smokes. as for diabetes, i may inherit this from my father but, maybe not. i inherited allergy from him so, i hope that's it. :)

I think some of it is genetic as long life can run in families. There is long life on my mother's side of the family and at the age of almost 70 I still have very good health compared to many of my friends of the same age.

Of course the way you treat your body has a lot to do with it. I don't smoke and only have the occasional drink, I try to keep to a healthy diet but at the same time I know that when it's time for me to go that will be it whether it be in a day, a month or 20 years.

I also agree that it depends on a person's lifestyle. I humbly say that my grandma is still alive and kicking at the age of 102. Sometimes she is worried and we had talked about this concern. To cut it short, she is feeling worried when will death comes to her life. I am laughing about this with her and console her that she can still live until 150. She was freaking out and does not want to reach this age.:D

It sounds like we need to have a life without stress. I do agree with you because it can affect our mindset into something and we cannot able to relax. However, it is inevitable to have stressors, but we can face them without any hassles.

we have to eat healthy , and never smoke , stay in a healthy environment .But our life is between god's hand we don't know when we will die or how much we will live.

sometimes healthy and young people die with accident or heart attack , there is things that we can't control like cancer disease.

I think when it's our time to leave this life, no matter what we do , it will be the time.

It is easy to say than do, right? Some people have their vices such as smoking, drinking excessive alcohol, etc. If they are, then they need to stop to prevent from having these diseases you mentioned.
more_vert
Yes but there is a point that we should ignore that once it is our time to leave life then no matter what we do it's our time.

To live longer these days we need to be cautious about how we expose ourselves to crowded people, eat healthy balanced diet food, sleep early, try to get more fresh air in our surroundings, and always sanitize our hands most of the time like using hand sanitizer, wipes, alcohol, and hand washing with soap. Have a peaceful, stress-free happy life with your loved ones, family, and friends.

I agree with you. At present, we need to be more careful, especially in dealing with this coronavirus that was spread like a fire by the Chinese people. Up to this date, they are still denying the fact that it originated in their country.

Overcrowding cannot determine how long we will live.may be last year when Corona was worst.

It is a basic thing to consider that we need to have a healthy living especially now. If not, coronavirus will just easily take over our lives and die if our immune system is compromised.
